Pawnee National Grasslands, Colorado

The Pawnee National Grasslands in Colorado are only open from Nov 1 to April 9th. Make sure you have a Colorado green sticker or OHV sticker or registration from the state you're from.

From Highway 85 go 32 miles north from the center of Greeley. Turn right/west on road 122. Go 8 miles to road 45. Turn left/north on 45 and go to the end, about 3 miles. The road stops at the riding area. 122 and 45 are dirt roads.

From I-25 get off in Ft. Collins on route 14 going west towards Ault. Go 14 miles on rt. 14 to 85. Turn left/north on 85 and go 20 miles to 122 and follow the directions above from there.

From Cheyenne, WY go about 19 miles south on 85 and follow the directions above after turning left on CR 122.

The riding area is basically just a huge ravine in the ground. It's pretty fun with lot's of jumps and varied terrain plus good drag racing areas. Altitude is 5300 Feet.

Gould, Colorado

Gould, Colorado is located about 20 Miles SE of Walden, CO on Route 14. There are some campgrounds that cost $10/night or you can stay in the forest for free, even right next to the campgrounds. About 2 miles SE of Gould on Route 14 is a National Forest Visitor Center which has good info and free maps of the area. The maps will show which roads are designated as 4x4 roads and allow ATV riding; there's a lot of them around there. There is a little restaraunt in gould and a little store as well. The riding here is mainly on dirt roads and not much of a challenge but it's a nice place for a family outing. Make sure you go up to Owl Mountain. Altitude is from 9000 to 11000 Feet.
